In the News
You will find a homework paper in your child’s folder Monday evening. Please sign and return this no later than Thursday, September 17th.
Although your child may not need guidance to complete their work, please take a few moments to review their work with them so they can make any needed corrections.
In-Building Volunteer Sign-Up September
We will send a separate post regarding the next steps for our digital volunteers. You will receive it early this week via this blog, “The Fab Fifty.” It will contain:

Unit #1: The Global Water Crisis

* I can use my notes to write a quality main idea sentence with 3 or more details. * I can state my opinion in a main idea sentence and support my opinion with informed facts/details.
*I can write a great title for my blog posts, while using correct capitals.
Individualization: On a typical day, students spend some time working at their own pace/level in Lexia and i-Ready Reading, as well as a chapter book of their choice. We are still in the process of getting chapter books into some of their hands!
Goals: *I can round 2 and 3 digit numbers to the nearest tens. *I can round 2 and 3 digit numbers to the nearest hundred.
Individualization: On a typical day, students spend some time working at their own pace/level in FrontRow and i-Ready Math.
Reflex: Addition and Subtraction Facts
*Note – Many of our students will be completing addition and subtraction soon, thus we will be moving on to math lessons on multiplication and division next week so that all students have a conceptual understanding of these skills before using Reflex to memorize the facts. Students will only be moved on to multiplication/division in Reflex after they have passed their addition/subtraction within Reflex.
We hope your child kept you informed about our first read aloud, Poppy! The students absolutely loved this book, thus we decided to read the next one in this series, “Poppy and Rye.”
Ask your child about the characters and action in this current book (hint: Poppy, Ereth, and a new character that happens to be a beaver)!
