Thank you so much for your willingness to provide quality comments for our students. Words can truly not express our appreciation and the difference you are about to make!
Please know you will get all future commenting “assignments” each Friday. This will give you the weekend thru Thur. to leave comments. My apologies that it is coming a bit late this first week of getting started.
We encourage the students to use the following format when commenting to one another. Please utilize each component but also feel free to elaborate and add other pieces as well! This has proven to be so helpful when students see you modeling how to leave a well-structured comment.
This Week’s Focus Points:
*You do NOT need to hit on each of these focus points with each student. Use your judgement on each post to help direct what you might want to use from the options below.
- Titles: Writing a “catchy title” to grab the reader’s attention while using correct capitalization. Also adding a header image that helps to express the title.
- Main Idea: Using key words in the main idea sentence so you know what the paragraph is going to be about.
- Details: Using specific details that support the main idea.
- Complete Sentences: Using complete sentences (subject and predicate) with correct capitals and punctuation to help readers better understand what you are trying to say.
This Week’s Blog Posts you can Choose to Comment On:
*Any posts from your Comment Buddy that are categorized as, “PBL: Water Crisis.”
*This is all we have done thus far, so any post will work!
*Maybe consider adding a short paragraph introducing yourself as their Comment Buddy and give them a little bit of information about you to start building a relationship with them.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this topic. It really made me think about _______________________. I wonder _________________________.

When I started reading I knew right away that I would be reading about ____________ because you wrote a main idea that used important words from your topic. Your details were so interesting! Your details were specific and really helped me to understand your topic. * as necessary, give feedback for any changes that might be needed
I can’t wait to see what changes you go back and make to this post. I am also very excited to read more of your posts!
