Featured News: Cooperative Learning
On a daily basis, our students spend time working with one another as well as having silent and independent work time.
Here are two samples of a cooperative learning structure we love to use, especially for math! It is called, Rally Coach.
PBL: Inspiring a Healthy Passion
What? Personalized Unit: This means students have choice of what they want to research as well as how they want to share their learning.
When? Short, 2 week unit
How? Students picked a health-related topic of their choice, researched, and this week will create something of their choice to share their learning and inspire others at EPiC. They will present to 1st grade students soon. 1st graders are in the midst of their health unit as well.
Note: Creations will be uploaded to their blogs and that information will be shared in next week’s blog update!
Goal: I can use connecting words while writing.
Example: It is critical that you drink a lot of water each day. One reason your need water is _______________________. Also, _________________. For example, __________________.
Goal: (Review) I can solve division word problems.
Goal: I can solve division word problems that involve a remainder.
Math Facts: Reflex
Each Monday on your child’s Math Menu you can see your child’s Reflex percentage and growth from the previous week. It is our hope that your child would be close to 65-75% at this time to help enable them to reach 100% by the end of June.
