Digital Volunteer Commenting Assignment #2 (Fri, Oct. 7th – Thur, Oct. 13th)

WOW!  Your comments are absolutely amazing!  Thank you so very much.  We will have students respond to your first comments on Monday.

Note:  We do typically have “off-weeks,” so please know that within a typical month there may be 2-3 commenting assignments.  Also, we do not give DV commenting assignments over holidays or extended breaks!

Note:  Comments do have to be approved (this is the easiest way so that you don’t have to set up accounts and log in), so please know that Mrs. Shannon usually approves comments each morning at 6:30am.  And for what it is worth, we do not actually read thru each one…we trust you!

This Week’s Commenting Time Frame

Please leave comments for your Comment Buddies between Friday, Oct. 7th and Thur. night Oct. 13th.  We will make it a point to have students read and respond to comments on Friday the 14th.

This Week’s Blog Post to Provide Comment

Category:  “PBL: Water”

Post:  Dr. Tucker Thank You *their title may be different

Post Background:  Dr. Tucker, LPS Superintendent, visited and shared artifacts, images, and stories of growing up in Burkina Faso, Africa.  This post is a thank you letter which includes favorite details they chose from his visit.

This Week’s Comment “Look-for’s”

NOTE:  By no means do you need to include something for each look-for.  Please feel free to just pick 2 or 3.

Look-for #1:  Title (correct capitalization, catchy, not a complete sentence, contains “key words” about the big topic)

Look-for #2:   Main Idea, Details, and a Closing

Look-for #3:  Spelling and Capitalization (in particular for the words, “Burkina Faso” and “Africa”)

Look-for #4:  Letter Format  Greeting – “Dear Dr. Tucker,”  –   Closing – i.e. “Sincerely,”   –    Signature – first name

As always, please don’t hesitate to include thoughts or responses that let the students know that their voice matters and that they have so many important things to share, many of which can make our wold better (even at their age)!  Empathy is a great word to use with them.  It is our big, overarching theme for ALL PBL units this year!

Professionalism is something we talk about a lot as well!
